Haynesville – Nacogdoches Wells Yielding High Production

by Kenneth E. DuBose on August 11, 2010

Haynesville wells in Nacogdoches are yielding high production:

The Jurassic Haynesville shale has yielded flow rates of a restricted 25-27 MMcfd of gas at 7,800-8,100 psi flowing pressure at two horizontal wells in a core area in Nacogdoches County, Texas, said EOG Resources Inc. Those rates are the first 30-day average production levels at the Murray 1H and Crane 26-1H wells, in which EOG has 96% working interest.

The wells had initial production rates of 32 and 30 MMcfd at 9,700 and 9,200 psi flowing pressure, respectively, which EOG said makes them two of the top three Haynesville shale initial completion rates in Texas or Louisiana to date. In the same sweet spot farther east in San Augustine County, Texas, the Walters 1H well had a restrictied initial production rate of 21 MMcfd of gas. EOG’s working interest is 49%.
