DuBois Pennsylvania residents debate Marcellus shale drilling:

For DuBois City Council, public comments on Marcellus shale gas drilling may seem as endless as the 25-page amended flood plain ordinance that was read in its entirety at Monday’s meeting, but as City Manager John “Herm” Suplizio has pointed out on numerous occasions, council is giving the issue due diligence as it continues to weigh the pros and cons of drilling.

Seven people offered public comments on Marcellus shale drilling at the meeting, including city resident Lester Smiley. Smiley commended council for assembling a panel of experts at DuBois Area Middle School on Thursday for a discussion on the Marcellus shale formation.
